****Missing**** Josh Cotton 22 years old last seen at the Marina in Kegworth.

**** MISSING ****
JOSH COTTON
***If You have any Information Please Contact the Police by calling 101 on your Phone ***
Full story from Leicester Mercury .

Josh Cotton, 22, was last seen on March 11 at the marina, near Kegworth, where he lived on his narrow boat called The Spirit at Sawley Marina for the last year.
Sawley Marina and Police officers are hoping to speak to any visitors to the site and owners who moor their boats there. To see if they have any information about Josh's whereabouts.
He was last seen at around 4pm on March 11 and despite intensive appeals and searches, there have been no further sighting of him.
On Friday evening, officers stopped and spoke to motorists and pedestrians as they entered and left the Marina exactly a week after Josh was last seen. Sgt Martyn Robinson and his team handed out leaflets bearing Josh's photographs in an attempt to jog people's memories and trace anyone who may have seen him in the last week.
Sgt Robinson also made an appeal to Josh and anyone who may know where he is to come forward and to speak to the police.
Throughout the weekend, officers have been speaking to visitors at the open weekend event at the Marina, handing out more posters and leaflets and seeking information about Josh's whereabouts.
Police divers have already searched the water around Josh's boat and a police helicopter has carried out searches of the area around the marina using thermal imaging cameras.
Search and rescue teams have also spent several days searching the surrounding fields on foot looking for clues.
While most of the 117 boat owners who live on site have already been spoken to, others are being contacted by police and asked to travel to the marina and to carry out checks of their own crafts.
Sgt James Cross, from Leicestershire Police's Missing Person Team, said: "We want to make Josh's face well-known, not only to the boating community but also to the wider public so they can be alert if Josh is in the area or if they see him out and about.
"With no information about where he has been since last Friday, we and Josh's family are getting increasingly worried about his safety and would urge anyone with any information to come forward."
The force's communications department has posted numerous Facebook messages, released media statements and tweets as well as making appeals through websites, newspapers, radio and TV stations .
They have also made video appeals, which have been viewed more than 150,000 times.
Sgt Cross said: ""If anyone has any information that might help find him, please get in touch with us, calling 101."

Brief History Of Coalville.

Hello Everyone,

I hope that you are all well today. :)

Well today we thought it would be a great idea to give a quick brief history of our lovely town Coalville. This is still a working progress so if anyone wishes to add anything please do contact us.

We hope that you enjoy today's post.

Many Thanks Coalville Express Team.

A Brief History of Coalville

Situated in the North West Leicestershire, England, Coalville is a small town.  According to the recent census, the population of the area is about 33,000. As the name suggests, Coalville came into being due to the direct result of the Industrial Revolution and the abundance of coal seams found within its boundary’s.
The town came into existence in the year of 1830. In its early years, Coalville was known as Long Lane due to its roads of dotted house settlements. The houses on the lane ended up at Snibston on the south side and from the north side the road ended at Whitwick and Swannington.
From the 1840s, the town had started being called Coalville due to the presence of coal mines. Before the erection of the Memorial Clock Tower in Coalville, there was nothing but industrial waste land on both sides with no houses either. In the location of Whitwick road and Hotel Street there were situated a few cottages and some houses of local tradesmen.
What is pretty strange is that none of the local government’s archives had properly maintained history records of what is probably one of today’s biggest towns in Leicestershire. It was only in the 80s that the history of Coalville started to be recollected. To which records were starting to be compiled by the local historical societies. You will also find that some visitors and independent historians have mention in their memoirs stories regarding Coalville.
William Stenson a native engineer, who was born in Coleorton, actually came up with the idea of deep coal mining while digging up underneath the stones bed in Whitwick, Underneath the rock bed Stenson found What can only be called a whole heaven filled of valuable coal resources. Then, in Snibston, another coal miner George Stephenson found the coal mine and later, he also developed the Leicester and Swannington Railway. William Stenson was also known as the Father of Coalville.
In the 19th Century, the engineering and textile industries were also booming. While in the 80s, the industry of coal mining was coming to an end, with all six collieries being closed within an eight year period. At this time there were a huge number of workers who became un-employed.
In 1832, the first railway station of Coalville called Leicester and Swannington Railway became established. This railway station was extensive to Burton in 1845. With that, the route in-between Burton and Leicester became important. When coal mining work was growing, more construction occurred between Coalville and Nuneaton. Later on, it was connected to the Loughborough via Charnwood Forest Railways. Due to the increased cost of restoring the passenger train route on the Leicester to Burton area, the project could not move further.
Coalville status changed in 1894 from village level to the urban district level, whereas the various surrounding villages were composed into the local government in 1936.
Coalville has also given the status of the organizational headquarters of North West Leicestershire. This is mainly because the development of Coalville was related to the coal mining, brick making, and extraction market and quarrying. Other than these, Coalville also got economically prosperous in terms of engineering, flour milling, and elastic web industrialization. Not only that, the famous toy manufacturer Palitoy was also situated in the Coalville during the 20th century. This toy manufacturer manufactured the famous characters like Pippa, Star Wars, Action man, Tressy, Tiny, Merlin, Care Bears, etc.
The economy of Coalville is highly established with some of these names like Terex Pegson Limited that is famous for mobile crushing plants. Calder Colours, which creates the material for arts and crafts and also who is responsible for the blood red colour of the Poppies in the Tower of London Memorial display. Aggregate industries are another well known company for their supply of manufacturing material across the UK. Tulip foods are the largest suppliers of pork products in Coalville and are a Limited company now. It started off from the small supplying status. In the 60s, they spread to the national level.
The political history of Coalville was all Labors due to their stronghold in that area. Till the 90s, Labor used to capture 36 seats of the 40 seats. As time moved by, the political landscape changed and many other parties became introduced in the area as well. In the elections of 2015, the Conservatives hold 20 seats while Labor held 16 seats.

Famous Personalities from Coalville

Moreover, some of the well known personalities have been born in Coalville. The famous actor Anthony Geary was born in Coalville and attended the Utah University. Tina Baker, another renowned TV presenter belonged to Coalville. Katheleen Fidler, born in 1899 was a writer from this area. George Smith is a Victorian Philanthropist , Tommy Robinson, the ex-footballer, Edwin Walker- the cricketer, James hunt – the High court judge, Sid Wileman- the footballer and many other  prominent figures belongs to Coalville.

Coalville is not only rich in the historical manner, but the great talents of England have also come out of here.

It has Finally Happens.... Leonardo DiCaprio wins an Oscar.

"Oscars 2016 - Leonardo DiCaprio finally claims his Best Actor Award, and Spotlight wins Best Picture "

That is the headlines that has been buzzing around recently. To be honest with you I personally believe it is about bloomin' time.

Having scooped a Golden Globe as well as his success at the Bafta awards. He finally picks up that elusive Oscar after the 6th time being nominated. It was for "Best Actor" in the film called "The Revenant". DiCaprio plays a vengeful fur trapper that had been left for dead by he fellow gentleman after he was attacked by wild Grizzly Bears.

Accepting his Oscar DiCaprio gave an emotive if very obviously pre-written speech about climate changes, which he dedicated to "the people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed".

Over the years of watching DiCaprio's work I have learned to appreciate his acting style and his what seem to be endless ability's. I remember sitting in class watching "Romeo and Juliet" then later Titanic when it was finally released on terrestrial television. In both films I didn't like the roles he played. In my opinion "to corny".

But as he matured in further roles (or that I had matured in appreciating good acting) I have been found liking a lot of his films. "Catch me if you can" was one of my personal favourites, Followed by "Inception". "Shutter Island" has still kept me thinking every time I watch it. But "The Wolf of Wall Street" Will be my all time favourite to date. A great balance of humour and some thought provoking moments.

Although I still believe that the Golf Club scene from "The Wolf of Wall Street" which Leo gets in his White Lambo should of won him an Oscar before now. It is great to see that he has finally got one. Here is hoping that he wins more.

!!!! Congratulations Leo !!!!

Whilst we are still on the subject of Congratulations, In my Local area a small film producing company "The Hamill Brothers" have now confirmed a Premier screening of their film "The Wrong Floor".

It is a UK Grind-house Production about a lad called Danny and his quest to find his father. Here is there IMBD.Com Story line section

" Danny's father, a pioneering research scientist, has disappeared. Suspecting foul-play, Danny goes undercover at the research centre where he worked. He soon discovers that there is something sinister at work. It becomes a race against time to save himself, his father and the entire planet! What stands in his way? Gangsters, toxic hobos, shady agents, clown killers, badly dressed desperado chavs, a renegade swat team, street thugs, mad scientists, a news reporter out for blood, a town full of hatred and monster with a taste for dismemberment. Welcome to Haven Port City - It's wrong on so many levels.

I have had the privileged of watching this film Post production. For saying that it has been made on a shoe string budget it is a very impressive film. You would never believe that it probably cost less than £3,000 to make. But we will be doing a full post review of this film soon. But until then go check it out.

It's to be shown at the Phoenix Theatre in Leicester in April 2016. Hopefully we will get all of the gossip of the night and find out if there any more Big Screen movies coming from them.

Acts of kindness

Acts of Kindness

So here it is the much anticipated second blog for Coalville Express.

Now I have been rattling my brain for a couple of day's to think what would be a good start for us.

So as I have left my mind to wander (Not always a good thing). I then stumbled upon a news feed about a Mothers quest to find a certain "Good Samaritan".

The Story goes: (Taken from Trending BBC)

"A mum who was visiting her sick son in hospital has described how she was left stunned when a Good Samaritan paid a parking fine she had received during her stay."

"Mairi Holden, a mum in Scotland, had to take her son Oscar to hospital on Wednesday night, she didn't expect to have to spend the night. She left her Honda parked on a single yellow line outside the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.
"Oscar was receiving treatment for some asthma related breathing issues. I stayed with him overnight," Holden told BBC Trending.
By the next day, her son made a full recovery. But when she returned to her car, she saw something on the wind-shield to make the heart sink: not one, but two penalty charge notices.
But - and here's the twist - there was something else, too.
A complete stranger had noticed the family's predicament, and left £25 in cash on the wind-shield. With it was an anonymous handwritten note which read: "Pay it then forget it happened"."
It then goes on to say how she was left "Gob-smacked" and that she set up a Facebook post to find the "Good Samaritan" who did this huge act of kindness.
Well it went viral and 12,000 shares later (At the time of publication) her original post finds it's way of starting something even bigger.
Using the same act of kindness to drive her, Mairi has now started an on-line Just Giving Page to which she hopes to raise £1,000,000.00 for The Sick Kids Friends Foundation. So far she has raised £9756.86 with 697 donations. (At the time this post was published)
sincerely hope that Mairi does get to thank her "Good Samaritan" personally. Also that she does reach her goal.
But this then had me thinking ....
What about the un-sung Heroes in My local area of Coalville ? The people that do so much for other people without a hint of anything in return.
Now I am aware of some the work that our local Volunteer group The Marlene Reid Centre does. For instance they have a program called R.E.A.C.T which if you donate your unused furniture. They will come and collect it from yourself and then sell it at a discounted price. If you are on any means tested benefits you are given an additional discount.
Now I have moved house's a few times and to be honest with you when downsizing I am more than happy to donate something which I no longer use to such a great Charity.
Bonus to this is that they collect from your home and you are not filling up the tip/skip.
I'm sure that there are many more programs and organisations out there. If you know any please do not hesitate to mention in the comments below. Or even post on our Facebook Page at Coalville Express
Also if you know of anyone that needs that recognition that you believe they deserve please do get in contact. Even if it's your next door neighbour that takes your rubbish out every week. Just that little thank you will always go that extra bit.
I hope that you have enjoyed our second Blog, If there is anything that has been missed or you wish to add please feel free.
Regards
